Salmon and trout angling | Coarse angling
Monday 5th to Sunday 11th March 2007.
The fishery was fairly quiet during the week but there were 6 salmon recorded at the weekend, 4 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. The salmon all weighed between 7 and 10lb.
Lough Melvin tells a similar story again this week with only a few anglers venturing out after salmon and little or no fishing for trout. John Flanagan lost a couple of salmon and there was a salmon caught on Sunday. I am still awaiting confirmation of the details of this fish. There are still large numbers of Kelts being hooked and returned. It’s nice to know that good numbers of fish spawned over the winter.
