Monday 13th to Sunday 19th August 2007.
The Drowes was surprisingly quiet this week with few rods fishing over the week despite nice water levels. There were a few fish caught from the Mill Pool and Red Roof but with few rods fishing there is little to report. 1 angler was very frustrated after losing 4 salmon on the fly on Sunday! There are still good numbers of salmon entering the river as is witnessed by the good number of fish heading into the Lough.
The Lough has also been fairly quiet with few anglers venturing out to fly fish or troll. The Rossinver club held their annual fly competition on Saturday which was won by Phillip Rooney with a fine sonaghan of 1¾lb. On Sunday the Garrison Anglers held their annual pairs fly competition. This was won by Stan McCart and Hughie Davison with 6 sonaghan. In 2nd place were Sean and Darren Maguire with 5 sonaghan and in 3rd place, Kevin Bradley and James Deery, also with 5 sonaghan.
The week was very wet and gave numerous floods which led to the river being too high to fish at times. The gauge average for the week was good reading 0.62 metres. The fishery was busy with 69 visiting rods fishing for the week. The river has great numbers of salmon present and with the good water levels, there were good numbers of salmon caught this week. Given here are some of the catches.

This was a great week on the Owenea with some 70 salmon caught mainly over Friday, Saturday & Sunday. The river now contains large numbers of grilse. Given here are some of the catches.
