Salmon and trout reports

Monday 4th to Sunday 10th February 2008.

RIVER DROWES

The river was in flood for most of the week but started to fall coming up to the weekend. There was some nice weather on Friday and over the weekend and a number of anglers fished over the weekend. I have yet to hear of any catches. We would have expected a number of salmon to be caught given the falling water and spring tides. That’s fishing! At present the water is still falling and the first half of the week is forecast to be dry which should give excellent chances over the coming days.

LOUGH MELVIN – RIVER DROWES

The lough is fairly quiet with the Garrison Anglers still not fishing. A number of boats fished on the southern portion of the lough but it was fairly quiet this week and I have no news of any catches.
